Kawe Africa is a social enterprise that is aimed at developing human  capacity on the continent by encouraging Africans from a very young age to embrace the culture of reading. The reading culture has the ability to librate the minds of our future leaders and empower them to take charge of their lives and become responsible for whatever they desire to become.

KAWE is a Yoruba word of Nigerian origin meaning to READ!

It was a common thing for us to hear while growing up that if you want to hide anything from an African, put it in a book. We are out to debunk that notion and send a message to the world which is AFRICANS READ!

This is important because we believe that if Africans read more; they would desire better lives, they would aspire for greater achievements and they would inspire others to take up reading.

We believe we can change the world ONE BOOK AT A TIME!

We meet every first Sunday of the month at Bogobiri, 9 Maitama Sule Street, Ikoyi, Lagos!
